Golden Boy Promotions are working to cut off any avenue of retreat for Lamont Peterson after he beat their fighter Amir Khan last Saturday night to win his IBF and WBA light welterweight titles. Golden Boy, who promotes Khan, are appealing the decision loss to try and get it overturned with the International Boxing Federation (IBF), WBA and the Washington Athletic Commission.

Their argument is that there was something funny about the scorecards, and they also took issue with the two 1-point penalizations that referee Joe Cooper took from Khan for shoving Peterson in rounds 7 & 12. The chances of having the fight outcome reversed are unknown at this point, but Golden Boy feels condiment at the very least the IBF will order an immediate rematch.
