Froch: My next fight will be against Bute in the UK

    It looks like former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is kind confident that he’ll be able to get IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute to agree to fight him in Nottingham, England rather than Montreal, Canada for their first of what could be two fights.

    Froch said this on his twitter on Thursday: “Looks like my next one is gonna be for the IBF World title! Nice one Eddie Hearn. More news to come on date & venue very soon. This ones in the UK! Get yourself over here. If you’re allowed.”

    Why would Bute want to fight the challenger Froch in his UK home city of Nottingham? I’ll tell you why: Bute knows he can whip Froch no matter where the fight takes place, and he just wants to get the fight, the payday, the notoriety that comes with it, and most of all a fight against the No.1 talent in the super middleweight division Andre Ward.
