I think we just saw the upper ceiling to Nonito Donaire’s ability to move up in weight and still dominate in his performance last night against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.

While some of Donaire’s fans have painted a picture of the Filipino Donaire as being the next Manny Pacquiao with his ability to go from one weight class to another and still dominate, it looks like Donaire won’t be able to find success once he moves up another level to featherweight.

Donaire’s power at super bantamweight was underwhelming from the very start and I don’t buy the excuses made about him injuring his left or right hands. The fact is Donaire wasn’t hurting Vazquez Jr. even before he supposedly hurt his hand.

That might be the case, but he's still an awesome fighter. Maybe he doesn't carry his punching power up in weight like Manny, but he still has great skills and is an exciting fighter to watch. I'll still be watching his fights regardless.

Totally agree. He clearly lacks power at super bantomweight and this will be an even bigger problem if he moves up again.

He is still an entertaining fighter to watch but I doubt he will become pound for pound number one as some of his fans claim.
