WBA super middleweight interim champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25 KO’s) successfully defended his World Boxing Association title on Saturday night with a 5th round knockout win over Denmark’s Rudy Markussen (37-3, 24 KO’s) at the Brondby Hall in Brondby, Denmark.

Magee ended the mismatch with a left to the body in the 5th. As a lot of boxing fans expected, Markussen, #12 WBC, was just too slow to compete against the quicker Magee, and was no match for his combination punching on the inside. Although Markussen was able to land some nice right hands every so often, he was getting hit at an alarming rate by Magee with his multiple combination punching. Magee looks really good when he’s not facing dangerous guys like Carl Froch and Lucian Bute.
